In the first 18 games of the season, our Centenary Gents have managed to post a 10-8 record. Currently, the team is on a four-game winning streak that includes impressive wins on the road against Occidental College and a dominant at-home victory against Millsaps. This streak comes right before the Gents begin their first conference series against Texas Luthern University. The rest of Centenary’s season games are against conference opponents, so, hopefully, the Gents will be able to carry this momentum over into conference play.

The Gents' most sweeping win so far this season occurred when they recently traveled to California to play against Occidental College. The away game finished with a score of 19-3, an impressive win for the Gents, who played four runs in the first inning, two in the fifth, five in the seventh, and a massive eight runs in the ninth inning. Graduate student Preston Ludwick had a stellar performance this game, with four completed runs of four at-bats with two hits. Other notable performances in this game include plays by senior catcher Ben Bridges, who scored three runs on five at-bats while tallying two hits, and senior short-stop Brady Robinson, who had four at-bats and managed to score three runs on two hits.

The next time our Gents play will be March 18th against Texas Luthern University in Seguin, Texas. This game will mark their first series against a conference opponent and will count towards their conference ranking. In the next home series games, the Gents will face off against another conference opponent, Trinity University. With the Gents' season ending on April 30th and only nine home games left, it is vitally important that Centenary students turn out to show our maroon pride and support the team as they complete their season.
