Softball Season Starter
Thus far in their 2022 season, our Ladies Softball team has completed eleven games--with four of those ending in a win! The team's first game on February 5th was a double-header against Millsaps, played at Millsaps. They won one and lost one. They competed in the Hendrix College Spring Fling Tournament--a two-day event played at Conway, Arkansas--and finished half of their total games with resounding wins.
Mardi Gras break was full of games for our Ladies. On Tuesday, March 1st, they played a double-header against Arlington Baptist University. Again, the night had a win and a loss. March 4th and 5th, the Ladies played three total games against Trinity. Below are just a few highlights of their season so far:
Millsaps Recap
In their February 5th double-header against Millsaps, the Ladies finished Game 1 with a 3-2 win and Game 2 with only a 2 point loss.
Game 1 consisted of senior Ashely Hunter as starting pitcher, with freshman Katelyn Moss pitching for the closing innings. Mallory Stout hit one double, and Erin Lewis had two. Game 2 saw freshman Anna Scarbrock as starting pitcher, with Katelyn Moss later substituting. Here, Erin Lewis shone with her skillful home run!
Hendrix Recap
The Ladies played Hendrix twice in the February 19th Hendrix Spring Fling Tournament.
Ashley Hunter and Anna Scarbrock pitched in the first game. Mackenzie Cox and Isabelle Dominguez hit doubles; Erin Lewis, Kaitlyn Dickey, Brooke Sandefur, Isabelle Dominguez, and Mackenzie Cox (twice) were all credited with an RBI.
Anna Scarbrock and Katelyn Moss pitched in the Ladies' second game. Erin Lewis scored a double, and Mackenzie Cox made a triple. Kaylea Patridge and Kaitlyn both hit two RBIs and Viviana Rivero, three.
Westminster Recap
In their February tournament, the Ladies also played Westminster twice and finished both games with resounding wins.
Anna Scarbrock and Katelyn Moss pitched in the first game. Viviana Rivero hit a double; Kaylea Patridge hit a triple; Erin Lewis had another home run. The active pitchers in the second game were Ashley Hunter and Katelyn Moss. Viviana Rivero, Erin Lewis, and Mallory Stout all hit doubles; Kaylea Patridge, a triple. Erin Lewis had the only home run of the game!
Arlington Baptist Recap
In their March 1st doubleheader against Arlington Baptist, the Ladies finished with one win and one respectable loss.
Katelyn Moss pitched the entirety of the first game. Mallory Stout hit a double, and Viviana Rivero scored two. In the second game, Anna Scarbrock came in to pitch. Kaitlyn Dickey's home run was the highlight of the game!
Trinity Recap
Over the course of two days (March 4th and 5th), the Ladies played three games against Trinity.
The three pitchers--Hunter, Scarbrock, and Moss--all saw time on the mound during the two days. Doubles were made by Kaylea Patridge, Erin Lewis, Jaymee Wilkinson, Kaitlyn Dickey, Mackenzie Cox, and twice by Isabelle Dominguez.
