A Fun Piece on Reece: An Interview Diving Deeper Into Her Character Through Random Questions

First, what’s been your favorite moment working for the Congo?

My favorite part of the Congo so far was our first issue we put out when the paper came back. Seeing everyone work together to accomplish something we didn’t know could work was so rewarding.

What is something you’re passionate about?

Environmentalism and getting younger people in loop concerning politics.

Do you take zodiacs seriously?

Very seriously. I know almost everything about my birth chart.

Do you have a book recommendation?

Always. For a fantasy suggestion I’ll always say The Dark Tower series by Stephen King.

What/who inspires your great sense of fashion?

Ooh that’s a good question and also really tough. My style tends to change based on the seasons and how I’m feeling but lately it’s been:

-Madeline Pendleton

-Nancy from the movie “The Craft”

-Betsey Johnson

-Vivienne Westwood

I either want my clothes to make me feel like a scholar writing with a quill by candlelight or a whimsical grungey fairy. The more accessories an outfit has, the better.

Oh I love that answer. Okay, so I know you’re into poetry being that you’re the president of Red River Poetry Society. What is your favorite thing about it — and whose work do you love the most?

My favorite part of the poetry society is helping other people get over their fear of writing “bad poetry” because we’re taught that good poetry has to follow a set of rules and guidelines but that’s not true at all. Lately I’ve been enjoying poetry from Aja Monet and Henry David Thoreau.

Regarding music, any favorite artist(s) that you’ve been listening to recently?

My music taste is all over the place, so I’m always finding new stuff to listen to to satisfy the mood I’m in. Charlie Hickey, Gus Dapperton, Roy Blair, Banshee, Lamb of God, Not Enough Space, and Bloodywood have been on repeat in my car the last couple of weeks.

Cats or dogs?

One of each so they gotta be besties.

That’s cute! Last question! What is something you consider your greatest accomplishment thus far?

Hm, that’s a tricky one. This is super cheesy but despite all the academic achievements I’ve received, the thing I’m most proud of is becoming a version of myself that I love and that younger me was too scared to be.
