What do our Fall Athletes do in the Spring?
As we kick off the spring semester with men and women’s basketball approaching conference as well as swim, let’s review what our fall sports do in the springtime to get ready for their next season. Soccer, men and women, have their WAC class two to three times a week for about one to one and a half hours at a time. The men are on the field one hundred percent of the time working on perfecting their ball skills as well as building teamwork to carry over into their fall season. Although the men do not have assigned gym workouts, many of them are in the weight room multiple times a week preparing for their upcoming season . . .

Major Changes to Major League Baseball Post-Season
November baseball is no longer just an occasional occurrence; it is here to stay. This year, the MLB decided to switch things up on how the post-season would work. The Evolution of Sports in 100 Years
A lot can change in one hundred years. In fact, the time between 1922 and now saw the Great Depression, a host of historical wars, a series of Civil Rights movements, prohibition, the first man in space, the introduction of antibiotic treatment and much, much more. One hundred years seems limitless.
The Evolution of the Sports Section
For about as long as one can remember, Centenary has had athletics. We used to have a football team that competed against LSU in the 1900s, we used to only report on Centenary sports news, and we had some impressive athletes attend our school. There was a point in our history when we were able to report on Robert Parish’s collegiate career, and the scandal that is tied to it. We haven’t always had the same sports teams we have now, and The Conglomerate's newspaper hasn’t always had a sports section like this one.
A Culture of Excellence – Star Centenary Athletes Through the Years
On the second floor of Centenary’s Gold Dome, there is a hallway that holds the portraits of the college’s most esteemed athletes. These men and women are honored for their hard work, dedication, and excellence. When each class is composed of majority athletes, it is difficult to stand out amongst your teammates, and harder yet to become the model for all athletes to play under the maroon and white. Some of these individuals have reached beyond Centenary’s borders to earn glory for themselves, their sports, and our college.
