Free Things To Do In Shreveport
Welcome back dearest Congo readers and an extra special welcome to those joining us. My name is Jacqueline Deville. I am a sophomore and the PR Head for the Conglomerate and Shreveport- Bossier has been my home for 10 years now. I know from experience that if you don’t know where to look, it can be difficult for newcomers to find fun things to do, especially for free. However, I hope to point you in the right direction so that you can bloom where you are planted! Here are some free activities that can help you to (hopefully) fall in love with the city the way I have!
FREE THINGS TO DO:
Stop by Meadows Museum. Can’t drive? No problem! This wealth of ever-changing exhibits is right on campus! The museum features exhibits by local artists, students, and fun events. You can even earn passport points just by looking around.
Look Around Artspace. Located in downtown Shreveport, Artspace, features art exhibitions, poetry readings, music concerts, and locally made jewelry and crafts.
Catch a Movie at the Robinson. The Robinson film center is a film-lover's dream. The intimate theaters make for a cozy movie watching experience. Tickets are free with your Centenary ID! Check out their website, http://robinsonfilmcenter.org/ , to keep up with showings.
Take a Stroll Around the Norton’s Art Gallery Gardens. These lush gardens are a beautiful oasis any time of year. They are open every week, Thursday through Sunday. They are a great place for picnic, some outside study time, or a date!
Go To Centenary Events. At Centenary there is always a fun event to look forward to. Check your email and keep up with Engage! Support the campus and it will support you (with passport points).
