LA Easly Feature

LA Easly is a great friend of mine that I made this year, as well as someone I have always looked up to in class because of her confidence, grace, and ability to express herself so eloquently. She is also the former section head for the Sports section of The Conglomerate. I got to know LA a little better this year and learned a lot from her before she graduated with the Class of 2022. So, without further ado, here are a few things that she has shared with me and now with our readers too.

Never shying away from a challenge, LA graduated with both a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a bachelor’s degree in Communications. Her hobbies include making playlists for different characters and vibes (love it) and watching “way too much YouTube.” For YouTube, she likes to watch Sims Lets Play reviews, video essays, true crime, doll repaints, Markiplier horror gameplays, Colleen Ballinger vlogs, animation, educational videos, and ASMR to fall asleep. Other types of media she enjoys are cartoons, anime, K-drama, and fantasy/adventure content.

Additionally, she can be found spending time swimming, ice skating, singing, or reading fanfiction. She’s also invested in learning more about astrology and horoscopes, sharing that she is a Leo sun, Pisces moon, Taurus rising, and a Leo stellium.

Because LA is so versatile, she is really invested in fashion too. You may have seen her rocking a tutu with yellow hair on campus. She credits her interest in fashion to watching Project Runway and playing online fashion games as a kid. This makes me laugh because it’s something we have in common. But what she loves most about fashion is watching other people express themselves by putting together outfits.

When I asked LA to share something people may not know about her, she responded that she has been a Twilight stan from a very young age. Of course, I asked the obvious question, is she team Jacob or team Edward? But her answer is a little too nuanced to explain on her behalf. She also shared that she used to collect Monster High dolls and owned over forty dolls at one point. Some people may not know, but LA comes from a huge and close family, which she believes definitely shaped her personality. She grew up with her mom and her grandparents and has two siblings from her dad’s side of the family.

Finally, I asked her about her future aspirations. She hopes to spend more time reading. Her extensive reading list includes Wuthering Heights (one of my personal favorites), Midnight Sun, Cemetery Boys, Song of Achilles, the Rosewood Chronicles, and more graphic novels. Regarding professional work, it is her dream to become a U.S. Foreign Service Officer who tours the world and has the opportunity to learn various languages. As a Foreign Service Officer, she wants to work as Consular Officer who assists with border control, visas, international adoptions, and also fight against human trafficking. Lastly, LA wants to revisit Japan and experience even more of its beautiful culture.

Now that we have all learned a little (or A LOT) about LA Easly, it is time to wish her a bittersweet farewell and the best of luck on her journey following her time spent at Centenary!
