The Wonderful LC Moffitt

One of the most popular and entertaining sections of the Congo is easily the Op/Ed section, and it is largely due to its amazing section head LC Moffitt. The Op/Ed section is truly unique, often featuring a range of articles and the infamous “Misc. BS” that has never failed to disappoint. As the section head, LC has been the one to approve these articles for publication. She has helped make the Op/Ed section what it is now, along with the writers who have found their home within it. She truly is a remarkable member of the Executive Board, and her skills can be seen among her other involvements.

As she is going into her junior year at Centenary, LC has had her share of personal accomplishments. One of the most notable is her dedication the Film Society, an organization on campus. As the 2021-22 school year started to end, she was elected to become the President of the society for the upcoming school year. Though I am not a part of the society, I have no doubt that she is going to do amazing things for the organization, as well as for herself. LC has shown numerous qualities that make her the perfect person to lead this society, many of which she shows in the EB meetings. She is patient and willing to hear what others have to say but knows what the most beneficial decision in the end will be. She is also very good at starting a conversation and keeping it going. As someone who is not the most skilled with this, I truly appreciate her questions, comments, and jokes. These are just some of her many skills; I could quite possible list many more, but then this piece would be fairly long. In short, LC is going to be an amazing president next year and I’m so excited to hear the wonderful (and stressful) things she decides to do.

Despite her great work ethic and lovely personality, the thing I have grown to admire the most about LC is her creativity. The head of Op/Ed needed to have some degree of creativeness within them, but LC has taken it to a different level and in her own way. She is not afraid to write about topics that some may find troubling. She also manages to do so in her own “elegant” way. LC has also established a group of writers she can trust to produce wonderful pieces for the section. These writers are some of the best ones I know, and I look forward to reading what they have come up with for each issue. There is rarely a time when her section’s articles have been lacking in the content area. She has truly made this section her own, and I am so grateful that she will continue as section head for the next school year.
